An elephant seal is born in our port

We call for respect for the mother and her calf.

In an almost unprecedented event for the region, a female elephant seal gave birth on the sea lion beach near the access to the South Breakwater of our port.

In order to protect the mother Mirounga leonina and her calf, we inform you that, during the exclusive nursing period, which lasts approximately 25 days, it is extremely important to respect the mother-calf bond, which requires not disturbing them while they are on the beach.

Therefore, we offer the following recommendations:

❌ Do not disturb them or try to approach them.
❌ Do not feed them.
❌ Also, keep pets away.

Let’s be responsible and take care of them!
